Desi Junction has constantly encouraged and explored the new talents. In a short span of 5 years, Desi Junction has organized various shows & events that gave opportunity to the young and budding talents to shine in the vast field of entertainment. These events gave many golden opportunities for amateur artists that highlighted their hidden talents in front of professional organizations. In the year 2007 Desi Junction aims to create more such opportunities for the south Asian community to exhibit talents and make their dreams to reality.
 

Eligibility Criteria :

  • The candidate must be at least 16 Years old as of March 1st 2007.
  • The candidate should be willing to serve Desi Junction as a volunteer.
  • Knowledge of one Indian Language is a plus.
  • No prior experience or training is necessary.

Step 1: Register

  • During online registration, participants will pick one out of four locations to try their luck in the first round.
  • To register just fill our online application form.
Step 2: Audition Round
  • Live auditions will be held at various locations in Chicago's suburbs.
  • Candidates will be notified via e-mail about the location, date and time of the audition round.
  • During the audition round, each participant will be given a set of predefined assignments related to Radio announcement/ reporting.
  • These assignments will be geared to test the personality, Voice Quality, Presentation style, Knowledge & Charisma/appeal of each contestant.
  • Contestants will be rated on these qualities.
  • At least 4 contestants from each location will move to Next round.
Step 3: Listener Choice Round
  • During listeners choice round the selected contestants will compete on Desi Junction Radio
  •  The audience will vote for their favorite Radio Jockey via Phone and Internet
Step 4: Grand Finale
  • At least 4 to 6 contestants will move to the Grand Finals.   
  • The final round will be held in an auditorium in front of live audience.
 
Auditions will be held at locations in Schaumburg, Devon Avenue, Naperville & Lombard
